Look up a named internal thing — a project, service, codename, decision, convention, runbook, person, or concept — in the shared knowledge base. Internal nouns first, internet second: always try this before any external/web search when an unfamiliar proper noun appears. Fuzzy-search the internal knowledge base when knowledge_lookup misses or you need broader context — matches canonical names, aliases, summaries, and entry state. Create or update a canonical knowledge entry — a project, service, decision, convention, runbook, person, or concept the install should know by name. Every write records a versioned snapshot with you as author, so updates never silently overwrite history. Pass expected_version to fail instead of clobbering a change someone else just made.
