This is my public agent workbench. It brings together the workflows I keep locally, the interfaces I customize, and the setup knowledge that is useful to share. Take one piece, adapt it, and keep what earns its place.
The collection centers on Codex and Claude Code, with skills for Antigravity, cmux, and Herdr. Each component lists its prerequisites. App-specific capabilities depend on the host you run it in.
Start here
Clone the workbench and browse the available skills:
git clone https://github.com/vrnrn/agent-harness.git
cd agent-harness
python3 scripts/install.py --list
Preview a single skill installation, then install it:
python3 scripts/install.py --skill cmux --host codex --dry-run
python3 scripts/install.py --skill cmux --host codex
Use --host claude for ~/.claude/skills, or --target for a project-specific directory. The installer copies only the skills you select and refuses to replace a different existing skill. See the full setup guide for plugins, optional dependencies, and updates.
Claude Code marketplace
claude plugin marketplace add vrnrn/agent-harness
claude plugin install agent-harness@vrnrn
That plugin bundles all five skills. The three mods are separate, optional installs:
claude plugin install context-bar@vrnrn
Mods need a Claude Code release with the mods API; compatibility and requirements are documented separately. Prefer a single skill install when you only need one workflow.
The collection
Skills · repeatable workflows
| Skill | What it brings | Prerequisites |
|---|---|---|
| antigravity-cli | Bounded CLI handoffs, session control, and troubleshooting | agy and its own authentication |
| cmux | Workspace, pane, and surface routing with stable handles | cmux on macOS; upstream GPL license retained |
| herdr | Agent and terminal coordination from the calling pane | Herdr-managed session with HERDR_ENV=1 |
| kanban-board | Task creation, dependencies, routing, and handoffs | The separate kanban CLI |
| orchestra | A bounded milestone loop driven by board state | kanban-board, project plans, and a supported scheduler |
Mods · a better terminal surface
| Mod | What changes |
|---|---|
| context-bar | Model and effort controls, git branch, permission mode, and context usage above the prompt |
| mermaid-inline | Inline diagram images with copy-code and save-PNG actions |
| image-preview | Hover previews for image references in sent prompts |
All three ship with source and tests. See the mod guide for loading, dependencies, and known limits.
| Inline Mermaid diagrams | Image hover previews |
|---|---|
| Mermaid diagram rendered inside Claude Code | Image preview card above a Claude Code conversation |
The context bar is visible in both screenshots: model, effort, folder, branch, permission mode, and context usage stay within reach.
Agent roles · focused responsibilities
22 optional role presets cover planning, implementation, debugging, design, review, verification, writing, and more. They preserve the local oh-my-codex setup with upstream attribution. Browse and adapt them separately; the skills bundle does not enable them.
MCP & plugins · connections and packaging
| Piece | Where to go |
|---|---|
| OpenAI documentation MCP | Portable connection examples for Codex and Claude Code |
| Threadboard | vrnrn/Threadboard — my separate local Codex Kanban plugin and bundled MCP server |
| Agent Harness bundle | Plugin manifests and marketplace guide |
| App-provided tools | Integration notes — install through the owning app |
Upstream plugins and app runtimes are linked or described here; their caches are not redistributed. catalog.json is the machine-readable inventory.
Learn, then adapt
| Guide | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Setup | Install a skill, load a plugin, or add a documentation server |
| The harness | Decide what belongs in instructions, skills, MCP, or a mod |
| Field notes | Follow concrete pane, task, and diagram workflows |
| Authoring | Add a skill or integration without making discovery noisy |
| Project guidance template | Give an agent concise repository context |
| Task brief template | Make a bounded assignment easy to implement and verify |

Contribute
Useful additions are small, readable, and grounded in a real workflow. Share a fix, a reproducible setup note, or an idea through issues or discussions. The contribution guide explains the checks.
Original repository material is MIT licensed. cmux retains its upstream GPL-3.0-or-later license. See component notices before redistributing a bundle.
