Portable coding standards and language-specific patterns for coding agents

Loam Code

Loam Code is an expansion pack for Loam. It packages viv shaw's coding standards, language-specific patterns, testing guidance, comment guidance, and Git commit practices as portable Agent Skills.

Loam Code installs independently. Pair it with Loam for the research, planning, implementation, debugging, and review workflows referenced by its guidance.

Principles

  • Prefer idiomatic code, concrete designs, and clear module boundaries.
  • Rule out errors with strict typechecking, linting, formatting, and tests.
  • Validate data at system boundaries and keep trusted interiors simple.
  • Write tests around behavior, invariants, and meaningful failure modes.
  • Keep comments and commits concise, accurate, and useful to future readers.
