vincenzopalazzo/omarchy-parallels
Run Omarchy (ARM64) natively in Parallels Desktop on Apple Silicon: one-command VM builder, agent skill, and MCP server for operating the guest.
Changelog
1.0.0 — 2026-09-24
First release as an Agent Plugins-conformant package (spec v1.0.0, for aaif-goose/goose#11043), plus the first bootable ARM64 live ISO.
-
Release ISOs no longer boot with
live_debug=1,tryomarchy.ssh_access=1, ormitigations=off. Disk breadcrumbs and the kmsg stream require--debug.omarchy-arm-install --yesmust name the disk (--yes sda). -
Live ISO
omarchy-arm-20260924-aarch64.iso(sha256c0ece14b12052f4365533b31d292f355a5105cf61ab197d73c92d9cdbafc96ca). Boots in Parallels arm64 EFI via the hybrid GPT ESP. The live init restores the autologin home and runsomarchy-provision-user --first-installbeforeswitch_root, so the session starts with the Tokyo Night theme, the Quattro wallpaper, and the Omarchy shell instead of an empty skel desktop. -
plugin.jsonmanifest +mcp.jsonMCP declaration (both schema-validated). -
Skill moved to
skills/omarchy-parallels/(wasskill/); operational scripts moved toskills/omarchy-parallels/scripts/with thin backward-compatible wrappers left intools/. -
New
mcp-server/: stdio MCP server (stdlib-only Python) exposing the exact operations used to build and debug the VM —vm_status,vm_screenshot,vm_exec,vm_display_get,vm_display_set. -
AGENTS.mdoperating manual;tools/status.shstate probe;build.sh--ssh-keyauto-generation; per-build randomized NIC MACs.
0.x (unreleased history)
- Proved the official Omarchy ISO is x86_64-only and cannot boot on Apple Silicon Parallels; repackaged the try-omarchy ARM64 rootfs into a GPT disk with systemd-boot and booted it natively.
- Fixed the boot panic (initramfs +
rootwait+ fresh ESP), the Parallels resume trap, cloned-MAC DHCP collisions, and the Wayland/DYNRES resolution story (2560×1600 @ scale 2 via Omarchy's Lua monitor config). - Installed ARM64 Parallels Tools (pure userspace) for clipboard + dynamic resolution channel.
