tough-tongue/ttai-community

v0.3.1MIT

Community-supported skills for Tough Tongue AI: build PM, consulting-case, system design, and MBA mock interviews, negotiation practice, slide-driven scenarios, and the study guides that go with them.

Tough Tongue AI Community Skills

Community-supported agent skills for Tough Tongue AI, the platform for tough conversations: some the AI takes (voice agents that call, demo, screen, and book), others you nail (realistic practice for interviews, negotiations, and coaching).

The skills here are helpful, battle-tested workflows that sit outside the core product plugin. Most of them build mock interviews and the study material that goes with them. They work in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and any agent that supports the Agent Skills format.

Community-supported means these skills are maintained on a best-effort basis and evolve faster than the core plugin. For the officially supported skills and the MCP server, see tough-tongue/toughtongue-skills.

Install

Prerequisite: the Tough Tongue AI MCP server

Skills that create scenarios call the Tough Tongue AI MCP server (ttai). The easiest way to get it is the core plugin, which also brings the scenario-creator and scenario-refiner skills these skills hand off to:

claude plugin marketplace add tough-tongue/toughtongue-skills
claude plugin install toughtongue@toughtongue-skills

Other agents: see the core setup guide. The case-interview and slides skills also need the Gamma MCP connector.

One command, every agent

The plugins CLI detects the coding agents on your machine (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI, VS Code, and others) and installs the skills into all of them at once:

npx plugins add tough-tongue/ttai-community-skills

This repo is also a standard Agent Plugin (root plugin.json + skills/), so clients that load Agent Plugins natively can point straight at it.

Claude Code and Cowork

In Cowork: Customize → Plugins → Add marketplace, enter tough-tongue/ttai-community-skills, then install ttai-community.

In Claude Code:

claude plugin marketplace add tough-tongue/ttai-community-skills
claude plugin install ttai-community@ttai-community-skills

Skills are then available as /ttai-community:pm-scenario-builder, /ttai-community:case-interview-builder, and so on, or just describe the task and Claude picks the right one.

Codex

codex plugin marketplace add tough-tongue/ttai-community-skills
codex plugin add ttai-community@ttai-community-skills

Restart Codex and start a new thread. To upgrade later, run codex plugin marketplace upgrade ttai-community-skills, then the add command again.

Cursor

In Cursor, go to Settings > Plugins > Team Marketplaces > Add Marketplace > Import from Repo, point it at https://github.com/tough-tongue/ttai-community-skills, then install ttai-community. Or use the Agent Skills CLI below.

Any agent (Agent Skills CLI)

npx skills add tough-tongue/ttai-community-skills

The CLI asks which skills to install and which agents to configure. Update later with npx skills update.

Manual

Copy any folder under skills/ into your agent's skills directory (for Claude Code, ~/.claude/skills/).

Try it

Here's a PM case: "Spotify can build only one of two features this quarter:
collaborative playlists or a podcast discovery feed. Which one?" Turn it into
a Tough Tongue AI mock interview.
Make a system design study guide for "Design a Rate Limiter" from the Xu
chapter I attached, then publish the interviewer pack as a scenario.
Here's a transcript of a "Design a URL Shortener" walkthrough. Build a board
interview from it.

Maintaining these skills

The GitHub repo is the single source of truth. Every app pulls from it. Step-by-step recipes (ship a change, apply a patch exported from Claude, add a skill, update each app, troubleshooting) are in MAINTAINING.md.

On your own machine, clone the repo once and link its skills into your agents' skill folders:

git clone https://github.com/tough-tongue/ttai-community-skills.git ~/coding/ttai-community-skills
~/coding/ttai-community-skills/scripts/link-local.sh

This links every skill into ~/.agents/skills, ~/.claude/skills, and ~/.cursor/skills. Edits in the clone take effect immediately in Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. Anything already at those paths is moved to ~/.skills-backup/, never deleted. Re-run it after adding a skill. On a machine set up this way, don't also install the plugin in Claude Code, or every skill shows up twice.

To ship a change to Cowork, teammates, and everyone else:

scripts/bump-version.sh

Then commit and push. The script raises the version in both plugin manifests (patch by default; pass minor, major, or an exact X.Y.Z). Without a version bump, Claude Code, Cowork, and Codex don't offer the update. Users then pick it up with Update on the marketplace in Cowork, claude plugin update in Claude Code, codex plugin marketplace upgrade in Codex, or npx skills update elsewhere.

Contributing

New skills are welcome. Read AGENTS.md first: community skills have to be portable (no personal paths, internal repos, or internal IDs), MCP-first when they create scenarios, and respectful of source copyright. Open a pull request with the skill under skills/<name>/ and a row in the table above.
