v0.6.0Apache-2.0

Skills for using the ktools CLI: UUIDs, unix time, hashing, base64/hex encoding and pretty printing.

ktools-encoding

Use when the user asks to base64-encode or base64-decode text, or to convert text to or from its UTF-8 bytes as hex, for example "base64 this string", "decode aGVsbG8=", "what does this base64 say" or "hex bytes of 'héllo'". Also use it to read the payload of a base64 value found in a config, header or log.

ktools-hash

Use when the user asks for the MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 or SHA-512 hash, digest or checksum of a string or a file, or wants to check a downloaded file against a published checksum, for example "sha256 of this file", "md5 of 'hello'" or "does this download match its checksum".

ktools-prettyprint

Use when the user asks to pretty print, format, indent or validate a JSON string, or to break an HTTP Cookie header into readable name/value pairs, for example "format this json", "is this valid JSON", "make this API response readable" or "what cookies are in this header".

ktools-unixtime

Use when the user asks to convert a unix epoch timestamp in milliseconds to a readable ISO 8601 date, to convert an ISO 8601 date-time to epoch milliseconds, or for the current time as epoch millis or ISO 8601 UTC, for example "what date is 1700000000000", "convert 2024-05-03T13:04:36Z to millis" or "what's the current epoch time".

ktools-uuid

Use when the user asks to generate a UUID or GUID (random v4 or time-ordered v7, lower or upper case), or to inspect, decode or validate an existing UUID to find its version, variant or embedded timestamp (v1, v6, v7), for example "give me a uuid", "make 3 uuidv7s", "when was this uuid created" or "is this a valid uuid".
