Semantic long-term memory and context engine for coding agents. Recall prior knowledge with the find/search/read MCP tools and persist durable facts with remember/write, backed by an OpenViking server.
Recall and persist long-term memory through the OpenViking MCP tools. Use at the start of any substantive task (coding, configuration, debugging, multi-step or tool-based work) to retrieve relevant prior knowledge with find/search/read, and during or after work to persist durable facts, preferences, decisions, and lessons with remember. Do not use for casual chat or simple factual questions the model can answer directly.
Find, use, create, install, share, update, and migrate agent skills stored in OpenViking (viking://~/skills and viking://agent/skills). Use it when a search result, or the session's <available-skills> list where the harness injects one, names a skill that fits the task; when a task looks like one a stored skill would cover; when the user asks to write, save, install, or share a skill from text, a Git repository, or a local folder; when a skill should work in every harness and on every machine; or when the user wants to move local skills (~/.claude/skills, ~/.agents/skills, ~/.cursor/skills) into OpenViking — "upload my skills", "save this as a skill", "迁移本地 skill", "把 skill 存到 OpenViking", "新建一个 skill". Covers the add_skill tool, running a skill's helper files, and which local skills must stay local.
Retrieve and apply OpenViking Experience memories through the Agent runtime's generic OpenViking search and read tools. Use before or during executable, multi-step, or tool-based work such as coding, file or data changes, configuration, deployment, workflow execution, and failure recovery when prior operational guidance could improve reliability. Do not use for casual chat or simple factual questions.
Work through tasks on a kanban board stored in OpenViking (viking://agent/kanban/<board>/, one markdown file per task). Use when the user says "ov kanban", "kanban", "看板", asks to put a task on the board, hand off the current work, continue a task another agent started, or run an unattended task loop. A board holds many tasks; each task file is the handoff itself - a frontmatter header (id, status, owner, board) plus Goal, Context, Decisions, Progress, Next, Questions, Log - and its process detail is folded into an archive file instead of being summarized away, so any agent with the ov CLI can resume it and drill down when needed.
Diagnose OpenViking memory issues by tracing backward from a memory file to its archive memory_diff.json and, when needed, session messages. Read-only; use for incorrect content, wrong paths or owners, missing memories, and unexplained updates or deletes.
