v1.0.0MIT

Make your own Minecraft mobs, items, and blocks by describing them. Design models and textures, fix errors, and package an add-on ready to play (Bedrock Edition).

create-block

Create a new placeable block for a Minecraft Bedrock Edition add-on from a plain description, or change an existing one, such as a decorative, glowing, ore, crate, slab, stairs, or light-source block, including its texture, sounds, mining time, drops, which way it faces, and whether it generates in the world. Use this whenever someone wants a new block or wants to change one of their blocks, for example "make a glowing mushroom block you can harvest", "add a ruby ore that generates underground", "create a stone brick variant", or "make my crate face the player". For mobs use create-mob, for handheld items use create-item, for redrawing a block's texture use design-model, and for structures built out of blocks use Minecraft Creator Tools' designStructure tool directly. Custom 3D block shapes aren't supported yet. Not for Minecraft Java Edition mods.

create-item

Create a new item for a Minecraft Bedrock Edition add-on from a plain description, or change an existing one, such as a weapon, tool, food, armor piece, throwable, or collectible, including its icon and crafting recipe. Use this whenever someone wants a new item or wants to change one of their items, for example "add a magic hammer", "make a food that restores lots of hunger", "create ruby armor", "add a crafting recipe for my sword", or "make my sword do more damage". For mobs use create-mob, for placeable blocks use create-block, and for custom icon art use design-model. Not for Minecraft Java Edition mods.

create-mob

Create a new mob (custom entity) for a Minecraft Bedrock Edition add-on from a plain description, or change an existing one, including its health, attacks, AI behavior, taming, riding, drops, and natural spawning. Use this whenever someone wants a new creature, monster, animal, pet, boss, or NPC, or wants to change how one of their mobs behaves, for example "make a rideable red panda", "add a goblin that spawns in swamps at night", "make my goblin scared of zombies", or "give the goblin more health". For items use create-item, for blocks use create-block, and for changing how a mob looks use design-model. Not for Minecraft Java Edition mods.

creator-tools-cli

Run the Minecraft Creator Tools command line (mct, the @minecraft/creator-tools npm package) for Minecraft Bedrock Edition add-ons. Use this whenever you need a Creator Tools command that isn't an MCP tool, or the MCP server isn't connected, for example validating or fixing a project, packaging it as a .mcaddon or .mcpack, deploying it to Minecraft, rendering a model or vanilla block to a PNG, opening the browser viewer or editor, creating a project from a template, running a local server, or looking up a command's options. For creating mobs, items, or blocks use create-mob, create-item, or create-block, and for finding and fixing validation problems use debug-addon. Not for Minecraft Java Edition.

debug-addon

Find and fix problems in a Minecraft Bedrock Edition add-on (behavior packs and resource packs) using Minecraft Creator Tools validation. Use this whenever someone asks why their add-on, pack, mob, item, block, or texture isn't working, won't load, is invisible, shows a missing texture or raw name like item.foo:bar, has Content Log errors, fails validation, needs upgrading to current Minecraft versions, or needs checking and packaging as a .mcaddon for release. Also use it right after creating or changing add-on content, even if the user didn't ask for validation. Not for Minecraft Java Edition mods, datapacks, or plugins, and not for browser or Home Assistant add-ons.

design-model

Design or change how things look in a Minecraft Bedrock Edition add-on - 3D models and textures for mobs, and pixel-art icons for items and textures for blocks. Use this whenever someone wants to reshape, restyle, recolor, or retexture a mob, or redraw an item icon or block texture, for example "make my goblin look like a mushroom", "give the dragon bigger wings", "draw a purple hammer icon", or "make my ore texture look more sparkly". Also use it after create-mob, create-item, or create-block when the user described a specific look. Custom 3D shapes for blocks and held items aren't supported yet. Not for Minecraft Java Edition models or Blockbench plugin work.
