Teach Codex to manage Qode boards, cards, and checklists through the Swift CLI with conflict checks and safe retries.

Qode for Codex

A skills plugin that teaches Codex to use the Qode kanban app through its existing Swift CLI. It covers reading and summarizing boards and child project boards, creating and updating cards, moving work, checklists, comments, archiving, and recovery. It uses the official OneQode icon already supplied with the Qode app.

Requirements

  • Codex with local execution and Python 3.
  • The built Qode CLI (dist/qode) and a running Qode server.
  • The helper discovers the default project at $HOME/Developer/project-tracker, or uses QODE_CLI, QODE_PROJECT, or qode on PATH.
  • For remote hosting, supply QODE_SERVER and securely set QODE_TOKEN in the agent's environment.

No background process or additional package dependency is installed. The plugin contains no workspace data or credentials. It uses the same API and shared data as the native Mac app and browser view.

Use it

Select Qode in Codex's plugin picker, or mention Qode in an appropriate request after enabling it:

  • “Show me what's due this week in Qode.”
  • “Add these tasks to the Marketing board's Backlog list.”
  • “Move the release card into Review and mark the completed checklist items.”
  • “Add this progress update to the Qode card.”

When invoking it implicitly, include Qode in the request so the agent knows which workspace to use. Read-only requests leave data alone; changes follow the requested scope with revision checks and stable request IDs.

Package contents

  • plugin.json: portable Agent Plugins manifest.
  • .codex-plugin/plugin.json: synchronized compatibility manifest.
  • skills/qode-workspace/SKILL.md: workflow and guardrails.
  • skills/qode-workspace/references/: command contract, connection, and examples.
  • skills/qode-workspace/scripts/qode.py: dependency-free launcher for the existing Swift CLI.
  • assets/icon.png: OneQode app icon; OneQode's marks remain its property. Original symbol: https://oneqode.com/images/home/header/oq-symbol.svg

The source lives in the Qode project under plugins/qode/. The private distribution archive is dist/qode-plugin.zip. Edit this source rather than an installed plugin cache.
