v2.9.0SEE LICENSE IN LICENSE

Writes short animated films, explainers, product demos, data stories and title sequences, as code, scene by scene, and plays them in a player that runs on your computer, where you comment on a moment and export MP4 or GIF. Includes a director skill for films with something to say, and a chart skill for the charts in them. Runs locally on Node.js 22 or later; export needs Chrome.

claude-motion

Use this for a local Motion film: a short animated video (10–30 s unless asked for more, 900 s at most), such as an explainer, product walkthrough or UI demo, launch teaser, logo sting, social clip, animated chart or title sequence, that plays in the bundled Motion player and exports from there to MP4 or GIF. A narrated one carries a voice track: a take a scene, made here with a speech provider of the user's or recorded by them, spoken and captioned by the player, the motion timed to its words. Everything on screen is code, a pure function of time, written scene by scene into the film's own store with this skill's script while the user watches it fill in. Read it when creating, continuing, finalizing or revising one. Not for editing real footage, subtitles or audio (that is a video editor), a still picture, a slide deck or a static HTML page.

dataviz

Use this skill whenever you are about to create ANY chart, graph, plot, dashboard, or data visualization, in ANY output medium (HTML/React artifact, inline SVG, matplotlib/plotly/d3/Recharts, PNG). Read it BEFORE writing the first line of chart code, choosing chart colors, building a stat tile / KPI row, or laying out a dashboard. Teaches a design-system-agnostic method - form heuristic, color formula with a runnable validator, mark specs, interaction rules. Default palette in references/palette.md.

motion-director

Use this to make a finished motion video that has something to say: an explainer, a product or feature video, a data story, an article or report retold, a social short, an opener or title sting, or any other film with a point, most often with a voice-over. It works as the film's director: finds the one point and the picture that carries it, writes the narration for the ear, has it voiced with a speech provider the user picks, times every scene to the words, builds the film with the claude-motion skill, looks at its frames the way a viewer would and hands over the film in its player, open beside the chat from the first minute, to watch, comment on and change, with a film folder that stays editable; the MP4 follows when the user asks for it. Needs claude-motion installed beside it. Not for a quick animation with no script (claude-motion alone), editing real footage, or AI-generated video clips.
