graphiteatlas/graphite-atlas
Atlas modeling skills plus the Atlas MCP server, bundled. Tools to read and write a Graphite Atlas, and the know-how to model it well.
Use when asked to audit, review, QA, or health-check a Graphite Atlas, or before signing off on a process build, or when inheriting an atlas copied from production. Runs a fixed set of read-only checks, as AtlasQL SQL through query_atlas with run_audit and the read tools as the fallback, that detect violations of the Atlas modeling patterns (dependencies at the wrong level, resources pointing at artifacts or vendors, orphaned step membership, steps with no performer, system/vendor names baked into nodes, overloaded part_of, orphan Data Tables, execution-mode contradictions). Reports findings; does not mutate.
Use when building an Atlas from source material - a PDF, an SOP, a transcript, a spreadsheet, a set of documents, or a cache of dozens of them - rather than from a conversation, AND when adding new material to an atlas that already exists. Covers the order of operations: reading the sources and keeping the sentence each fact came from, choosing the unit of work, proposing the change on its own page before writing it, asking questions through the question widget rather than in the document, labelling what you inferred, asking only the questions that change the model, writing it, verifying by reading it back, and matching, editing and superseding rather than duplicating when the atlas already has points. Invoke alongside atlas-modeling, which decides HOW to model; this decides in what order.
Use when a built atlas needs to be interrogated for what is MISSING rather than what is wrong - before handing a build to a customer, when reviewing an atlas someone else built, or when preparing the follow-up interview after a first modeling pass. Runs read-only absence checks per point type, as AtlasQL SQL through query_atlas with run_audit and the read tools as the fallback (does this step have a performer, a system, an input, an output, a sequence, a source document; does this person have a position; does this process have steps and an accountable owner; is this system provided by a vendor), then produces an INTERVIEW SCRIPT of the questions that cannot be answered from the graph, grouped by who can answer them. Complements atlas-auditing, which detects violations; this one detects absences. Reports only, never mutates.
The Atlas language - Graphite Atlas's typed vocabulary of Point types, Path types (with source→target constraints + multiplicity), Properties, and the default folder structure. Use whenever you need to know what types exist or what can legally connect to what: before creating/validating Points or Paths, when picking a relationship type, when modeling a process/org/metric tree, when structuring a new atlas (which default folder a view/point belongs in), or when a non-Atlas Claude session needs the Atlas vocabulary. Pairs with atlas-modeling (the modeling principles).
Use before any write to a Graphite Atlas (creating, updating, or deleting Points or Paths; proposing schema changes; modeling a new process from a transcript, screenshot, or interview). Surfaces the three modeling principles, each with its anti-pattern examples inline so they are always in context; deeper worked examples live in references/. Invoke once per atlas-mutation session.
