Architecture Decision Records for any repository: init, distill from existing code, record new decisions, review diffs against decisions, and validate structure. Stack-agnostic.

adr

Standing rules for Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) in any repository, independent of language or framework. Use when about to make or change an architectural decision (new dependency, module or service boundary, data model, hard-to-reverse choice), when code contains a @decision ADR-NNNN comment, or when the user mentions ADRs, design decisions, or why code is the way it is.

distill

Recover implicit architecture decisions from an existing codebase and git history, rank them, and triage each with the user as accept (write ADR), accident (known debt), reject, or skip, with resumable state. Use when the user runs /adr:distill or asks to bootstrap, extract, or derive ADRs from existing code.

init

Set up Architecture Decision Records in the current repository (folder, template, index, known-debt log, CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md pointer, optional validation hook). Use when the user runs /adr:init or asks to add, bootstrap, or wire up ADRs. Idempotent and adopts existing ADR folders.

new

Record a new Architecture Decision Record from the current conversation or diff, with context, options, decision, and consequences confirmed by the user, including superseding an older ADR. Use when the user runs /adr:new, says "write an ADR for this", or confirms a decision that matches an ADR trigger.

review

Check the current diff or branch against accepted Architecture Decision Records and flag likely violations, changes that need a new ADR, and touches to known debt. Report only, never block or fix. Use when the user runs /adr:review or asks whether a change respects the ADRs or design decisions.
