gaik-project/gaik-toolkit

v0.5.0MIT

GAIK agent skills. For developers building document pipelines with the gaik Python toolkit: choosing a document parser that preserves table structure, designing extraction schemas that stay inside provider limits, building hybrid pgvector search whose failures are visible instead of silent, and writing source-cited reports from mixed files with the gaik report writer. Ready-to-run use cases: turning a short brief into an editable slide deck with speaker notes, timing and citations, and Claude Desktop skills that write incident reports, construction site diaries, priced sales orders and structured reports.

generate-structured-reports

Writes a source-cited report from the user's files by running the gaik ReportWriter pipeline: every file (PDF, Word, spreadsheet, text, recording, image) is normalized to text, facts are curated per report section with quotes checked against the sources, and each section is drafted and reviewed. Drafts the report's sections from an optional template or proposes them, and agrees the structure with the user in chat; reports what the sources do not cover, where they disagree, and which facts were dropped. Use when a report must be written from source material and every statement must trace to a source, for example a condition or inspection report, an assessment, or a project or meeting report filled into a fixed template. Also use to correct curated facts and write the report again, or to rebuild a report after its sections were edited. Runs Python with gaik[report-writer]; in Claude Desktop without code execution, use the report-writing skill instead.

Compatibility
Needs Python 3.11 or later with gaik[report-writer] installed, an LLM provider configured through environment variables (OpenAI or Azure OpenAI when the sources include recordings), and Pandoc for Word output. The agent must be able to run the Python helper in scripts/.
